By the time we got to Jekyll Island, I had decided the beach wasn’t so bad after all. There are so many interesting things to play with in the sand. My favorite was definitely the reeds.

Dad and I at the beach on Jekyll Island. Even the air here tastes a bit salty.

Hmmm. What's this? Some kind of sand stick? Where did these come from?

Look! There are more over there! And I have sand on my eyebrow!

Let's go get them! I'll have this beach cleaned up in no time! Maybe I should contact BP to see if they need my services in the Gulf?

Hi mom! Check out my stick collection! Better yet, check out my hair. I am stylin'!

What?! We're going home?! Can't you see that I'm ready for another day at the beach? Well, I guess there is always next year...

The swimming pool on Hilton Head Island was definitely the best part! The water doesn’t taste much better than the ocean, but you don’t have that pesky sand-in-the-diaper problem. Mom got me these great floaty things, too. Bonus!

At first, I wasn't quite sure about the pool, but I figured I would play along. At least there weren't any waves knocking me over!

Mom finally gave me some toys to play with, and that improved my mood immensely!

Eventually, I got brave enough to go out into the middle of the pool. Mom stayed close by, but I got to do a little solo paddling.

I am so proud of myself! And my floaties match my swimsuit! I rock!

Swimming wore me out! Naptime!

Our first full day in Hilton Head, Mom and Dad took me to the beach. All I can say is, the ocean sure is alot more salty than the bathtub! And sand doesn’t taste very good either. So we headed to an oceanfront park to play in the fountain.

Mom and I in the fountain.

Dad was tired of getting wet, so he stayed on a bench and took photos. Hi dad!

Oooo, that water tickles!

On the way back to the hotel, I got a snack. Hey, check my feet for sand. That stuff gets everywhere!

So much excitement makes for one sleepy girl! I need to rest up for tomorrow!

Our wonderful hosts, the Davis family, took us sightseeing in the Cherokee National Forest. I had so much fun playing with Jordan and Olivia! Thank you guys for the hospitality!

Mom, Dad, and I in front of Bald River Falls. Wait, what's that, up in the sky? Why isn't everyone else looking?

Dad and I in front of the falls. It was so pretty there. I wonder if they will let me go kayaking? Probably not, since I can't see out of the kayak yet. Maybe next year?

I don't think Mickey likes me.

That's ok. I'll just go over here and play by myself. And show off my prettty shoes.

Better yet, I'll climb on dad. Little does he know that being cute is a part of my evil masterplan for getting everything I want!

And if it doesn't work on dad, I know it will work on Grandpa!

Thanks to everyone that helped me celebrate my first birthday! It was so much fun, I asked mom and dad to throw me a party again next weekend. I can’t imagine why they said no…

Before the party, everyone was running around trying to get ready. I, however, remained calm and collected.

I played with toys and posed for photos in my party dress.

Bring on the cake!

Better yet, bring on the presents! Thanks everyone!

Man, I’m getting good at this!

The real reason I learned to walk: now I can carry two toys at once!

However, sometimes I want to carry three. Can I pick this one up with my teeth?

Every walking girl's biggest debate: what shoes to wear?

As usual, mom was behind the camera, but she got some good photos of me with everyone else!

Check out my Easter dress- don't I look fabulous?

My first Easter basket: bunny, check; eggs, check; candy... candy... wait a minute. Where's the candy??

I guess I'll have to settle for hanging out with grandpa and chewing on my fingers.

Dad brought me this great new toy! But next year, if I don't see some candy, I'll have to go all baby ninja on everyone!
